Adding or Removing Sub-Members in a Group Membership
Removing Sub-Members
The account administrator manages the sub-members in a group membership.
- Log into the membership portal.
Click Memberships in the left menu bar.

Click on the BLUE title for the active membership.

Scroll down to the list of SUBMEMBERS and click on End sub-membership for each sub-member you wish to remove.

Click on Confirm in the pop-up window to end the selected sub-membership.
- This will immediately end the membership benefits for the removed sub-member.
Adding Sub-Members
The account administrator can add sub-members either when first creating the membership, or at any time afterward through the membership portal.
Before adding sub-members: Ask each person to log into their individual membership portal and add your organization as their employer. This ensures their existing CourtListener account links correctly on the back end.
- Log into the membership portal.
Click Memberships in the left menu bar.

Click "Add a Sub-member" at the top of the membership page.

Adding an Existing CourtListener User
If the person has already identified your organization as their employer, they will appear in the "Choose Existing Contacts" list. Check the box next to their name and click Confirm.

Adding Someone Not in the List
If the person doesn't appear in the list, click "Add Submember" and fill in their name and email address manually.

Important Notes
- Administrators are not automatically added as sub-members. If you want to receive membership benefits as the administrator, you will need an individual CourtListener account and must add yourself as a sub-member.
- Sub-members can be added during initial membership setup or at any time through the portal.
