Are my search queries logged?
By default, CourtListener logs the search queries that you make according to the retention guarantees in the CourtListener Privacy Policy.
We primarily do this for two reasons. First, we plan to use anonymized user queries to enhance the quality and accuracy of CourtListener's relevancy engine, CiteGeist. By inspecting the queries that people make and the results of those queries, we can identify opportunities to make CiteGeist more accurate and relevant.
Second, we are planning a variety of features that will surface your past activities, such as searches, to make CourtListener better.
How to Disable Query Logging
Query logging can be disabled in your CourtListener profile. Simply log in, visit your profile, and turn it off near the bottom of the page.
