Logos and brand assets
Free Law Project's logos live in two places. Which one you want depends on what you're doing.
- Sharing with press or partners: use the press kit and logos page on free.law. It has a downloadable press kit with our main logos, plus background on Free Law Project, our projects and our impact, ready to hand to someone outside FLP.
- Making something: use the freelawproject/logos repository on GitHub. It holds the source files (SVG and AI) for every logo, plus fonts, the style guide and templates.
What's in the logos repository
- Sites: logos for CourtListener, Free.law and Bots.law (
sites/) - Projects: logos for projects such as RECAP, Juriscraper, Doctor and Inception, in versioned folders (
projects/v1tov3) - Style guide: colors, type and logo usage, as a PDF (
style-guide/) - Fonts: Raleway and School Book (
fonts/) - Templates: a Word letterhead and video-meeting backgrounds (
templates/)
Using them
- Follow the style guide.
- Use the most recent version of a logo. Most are versioned.
- Don't modify a logo beyond small changes like resizing. If you need a size that isn't there, make it from the SVG or AI file.
- Don't use any image in a way that could confuse people about who made something.
