RECAP Suite

PACER is the government website that holds every document and federal court case going back to about 2003. PACER is likely the biggest paywall in the world. It charges 10¢/page to download PDFs or HTML, with a $3.00 cap per item.

Our RECAP Suite is a collection of tools for working with PACER. RECAP liberates content from behind the paywall:

• The RECAP Archive is a searchable collection of around half a billion federal court records.
• Use the RECAP extension to contribute your PACER purchases to the RECAP Archive and save money on those that are already in our system. After you install the RECAP extension, all of your PACER purchases are automatically contributed to the RECAP Archive.
• Set up RECAP Search and Docket Alerts to monitor federal court content and cases.
• Add your personal @recap.email address to your PACER account to ingest your CM/ECF notification emails.
• Use the Pray and Pay system to "pray" for PACER documents you want and help others get the documents they do.
• Use the RECAP and PACER Data APIs to automate federal court data gathering and ingestion.
